Are You Ready For The School Year?
Topic: Parenting

Are you ready for your kids to go back to school? I am honestly not ready. It would seem that I would be excited at the thought of having the kids gone during the day once more so I can get some work done. I have not been writing much this summer.

However the truth is I am very overwhelmed at the notion. According to Feng Shui principles, a cluttered room represents a cluttered mind.

One could almost argue the chicken and the egg theory, which comes first a cluttered mind or a cluttered room? In my case I could not honestly say, it always seems to happen simultaneously.

I can honestly say that my house is currently reflecting my state of mind which in a nutshell is chaos. I am currently feeling a bit overwhelmed with my to do list these days. How about you?

My twins both of whom have autism will be in second grade this year so hard to believe. When they are not wrestling each other in true puppy style they are tearing through the house leaving a path of you can only imagine ....

I am interested in hearing your thoughts on this time of year.  How do you prepare for the coming school year? Is the transition smooth or a shock to your system?

What are your eating habits?
Topic: Nutrition

I am in pretty good health. I will be 40 before the end of the summer and I can say I have no major health problems. I do have a few health annoyances such as the occasional migraine and a sensitivity to certain foods, but I do pretty well.

I am at low risk for breast cancer (according to the assessment I took at and I have low blood pressure. I don't exercise as much as I should be (why move when I can sit down and write?) , but I am working to improve on this.

Like most americans, my diet can certainly improve but I have never given it too much thought. After all, I am of ideal weight, eat very little meat and don't care much for sweets or rich foods. I also am a nonsmoker and don't drink alchohol  (once a year I will have one or two drinks for a special occasion).

I have to admit I do favor a cup of coffee each morning but I am beginning to switch to a healthier tea.

So, why all the talk about health this morning?

Maybe it is because I am close to 40 and according to the medical professionals this is the age that our body reaches it's "peak" and then our bodies slow down in many ways.

Or maybe it is because in the past 6 months, several people I know including one of my younger brothers and my mother in law have been diagnosed with cancer.

Or maybe even because my own children (three out of four who have medical conditions) are finally doing well enough that I can look to my own health and really take a hard look at where I am with my health habits and where I want to be.

Up until about five years ago, any kind of stress would manifest into emotional challenges for me. However, in recent years I have noticed physical symptoms arising during stress. I believe most of this has to do with the fact that I have become a well adjusted, emotionally stable adult with a rich spiritual life.

I believe in the benefits of a health diet and exercise but I also have always strongly believed that prayer and meditaion are even more imporant.

Spirit is teaching me now that our physical bodies deserve an equal place among our emotional and spiritual bodies.

So, I urge you to take some time and really look closely at how your health is and what steps you may need to take to achieve top health.

You owe it to yourself.

Warmest Blessings,

Personal Assessment
Topic: Self Improvement

Good Morning,

I have been sitting here thinking about how fast life can come at us. One moment you may be on top of your routines and the next moment you have a pile of laundry the size of a mountain growing in your basement.

I invite you today to take a break from your hectic schedule and assess your life. Are you where you want to be at this moment? If not, what changes do you need to make?

Take a look at each area of your life: Finance, Relationships, Career, Health, Parenting, Creativity, Spirituality, Personal Growth.

Don't judge, simply observe. Then write out a goal that you would like to reach for each area within the next year or perhaps the next 6 months.

Write out the steps to that goal and keep them in a safe place. Each night before you go to bed, affirm:  Each day I am growing closer to reaching the goal of.....

Remember it is not a race but a journey. If events happen that prevent you from accompolishing your goal or if you get off track, be gentle with yourself and reevaluate your goals.

Have a wonderful day,

Grounding Exercise
Topic: Energy Healing

Grounding is an excellent exercise to use when feeling scattered. I recommend using it daily to help you feel centered throughout the day.

If you already meditate daily you could easily fit a grounding exercise in as part of your routine.

There are many variations of grounding techniques that you can use. One of my favorites is the following:

Before you get started make certain that you will not be disturbed for the next 10 minutes.

You can sit on the floor if you want or lay down if necessary but you will obtain the best results if you sit in a chair with your feet flat on the floor. I like to take my shoes off but if you feel more comfortable with your shoes on then that is fine.

Close your eye and focus on the area of your third eye (center of the lower portion of your forehead just above your eyes).

Now, bring your attention to your eyelids and feel the way your eyelashes lay against your skin.

Bring your attention down to your tailbone (this is the area of your root chakra) and imagine a tube of red light extending down to the ground. Imagine it going through the floorboards and down into the Earth.

Then bring your attention to your feet and feel roots coming out the bottom of your feet and going down into the ground.

Imagine the energy of the Earth coming up from the ground through your roots and through the red tube and feel it nurture you. Quietly focus on this refreshing energy and thank the Earth for her gift of life.

Next, imagine high above your head a shining ball of light. Try to feel the energy of this ball of light. Experience it as love.

In your imagination, visualize this ball of light streaming down, watch the light come down until it touches the top of your head and then feel the energy come down through your body.

Once you feel comfortable doing this, imagine the red energy from the earth coming up through your energy cords until it reaches your heart and the golden energy from above coming down through the crown of your head until it reaches your heart. Imagine the them combining together and then "see" teh red-gold energy flowing through all parts of your body and then coming out of the crown of your head and spilling over like a waterfall.

Warmest Blessings,

Do You Practice Good Psychic Hygiene?
Topic: Energy Healing

Many of you are either involved with some form or energy work or perhaps simply a person who is very sensitive to energy.

This may be old news to you but I thought it was worth mentioning...(you may have guessed by now that I need the reminder today)  that psychic hygiene is crucial to use on a daily basis.

It truly does deserve the same attention that your other daily habits do...such as brushing your teeth or thowing on some clothing.

You are hopefully practicing these skills on a daily basis. Tomorrow I will discuss in more details what those excerises are ...for those of you who are new to working with energy.

Have a wonderful night!

Today is the kids last day of school and what a wet gray day it is! The twins both have parties with their classes today. It seemed odd to send them off with sweatshirts and hoodies in June!

What is a Spiritual Health Coach?
Topic: Energy Healing

Hello, I am looking foward to sharing this blog with you. However, at the moment it is nearly midnight so instead of being real creative and writing up a wonderful post for you, I have decided to share instead an article that rings true to me. It is from the following website:

All healing is spiritual healing.  In our experience, all healing is spiritual healing.  In our intuitive insights, all healing is spiritual healing.  In our hearts, all healing is spiritual healing.  In our belief, all healing is spiritual healing.  In our opinion, all healing is spiritual healing.  Everything we can imagine that can be wrong with a human being appears to be healed by Divine intervention; and without this Divine intervention it appears nothing is ever healed.

Underlying every physical ailment known to humanity is an emotional issue.  Resolve the emotional issue and you heal the physical ailment.

Underlying every emotional issue known to humanity is a mental block.  Resolve this mental block and you heal the emotional issue.

Underlying every mental block known to humanity is an intuitive (psychological) error.  Resolve this intuitive error and you heal the mental block.

Underlying every intuitive error known to humanity is a spiritual disconnection.  Resolve this spiritual disconnection and you heal the intuitive error.

All spiritual disconnections are real.  Everything else is a symptom.  Physical ailments, emotional issues, mental blocks and intuitive or psychological errors are all symptoms.  These symptoms tell us we are distancing ourselves from the Divine.  That's what a spiritual disconnection is - a distancing of ourselves from the Divine.

When we distance ourselves from the Divine, we cut ourselves off from the spiritual energy we need to survive as vibrantly healthy, mentally alert, emotionally stable, psychologically sound, intuitive human beings.  This lack of spiritual energy is the cause of all our psychological (intuitive), mental, emotional and physical ills.  Once we restore our connection to the Divine and start replenishing our spiritual energy, we heal.  We heal on every level of our being.  This healing is called spiritual healing.  The end product of all spiritual healing is spiritual health.  Abundant spiritual health is our goal.

Licensed spiritual health coaches are charged with the responsibility of coaching people with physical, emotional, mental, psychological (intuitive) and spiritual problems.  This charge is to help others heal themselves not by telling them what to do, but by helping them through a process whereby they can make their own decisions.  This process is called coaching.  The person who facilitates this process is a coach.

The person who facilitates the process resulting in abundant spiritual health is a spiritual health coach.
